Quilt As You Go
Karin McElvein
Many of you have seen or know of Georgia Bonesteel’s method of “Quilt as you go. In this method, developed by Brenda Feeny from Martinsville, the quilted blocks are joined completely by machine. No hand work. Also the quilt lies very flat. It is a wonderful method for joining blocks of the month, which often are not all the same size. We will also learn how to frame them so that they will be the same size. You can use any blocks for this method if you just want to learn it. 3- 4 premade blocks are needed for the class. They can be as simple as a nine patch. Blocks will need to be at least 8” square.
