Class Offerings for 2016- (click on the name of the class to see a picture!)
Churn Dash Gets a Makeover! (Carol A. Jordan)
Finished 60”x 60” All blocks are 10” finished. There are two blocks – the churn dash and the hourglass block. Borders can be big or small. The quilt can be bigger by buying the same amount of fabric for Hour Glass and Churn Dash. (It works out that the two blocks use about the same amount of fabric) It is easy to make this with just three fabrics or many. Keep the contrast between the backgrounds and the block pieces. Light vs dark makes this a shaded churn dash. Refer to handout given at sign up for more detailed instructions. Supply list provided at registration
Delectable Mountains Majesties (Cathy Meador)
This is a quilt pattern rooted in history! This is one easy block with many layout options and is a great way to sew up your stash! Fabric that has a light and dark contrast - cut into 8.5" squares. You can go scrappy or coordinated! Your project can go big or small! Free pattern supplied at class! Supply List provided at registration
Dresden Plate Baby Quilt (Mary Lynn Slough)
You will learn the fundamentals of making a Dresden plate block in three different sizes using the EZ Dresden plastic template by Darlene Zimmerman. This baby size quilt is quick, easy and fun to make in juvenile prints, brights, pinks or blues. Once you learn the basic technique, you won’t be able to stop making these pretty fabric plates. Supply List provided at registration
Easy Hunter Star (Margo Fowler)
This class will show you how to construct the classic Hunter Star pattern without any special equipment. If you can sew a diagonal seam, you can make an Easy Hunter Star. Select contrasting fabric, light and dark, follow the pre-cutting directions and be ready to leave with the beginnings of a "bucket list" quilt. Supply List provided at registration
Fabric Wrapped Baskets (Karin McElvein)
Skill Level-All- Machine class: These fun bowls are made from fabric strips wrapped around clothesline, coiled and stitched. After learning the basics, you can experiment with various shapes and embellishments. This technique also works for placemats and coasters. Supply List provided at registration
Let’s Finish It! (Joan Bryan)
This Class is packed with tips and tricks to finish your quilt tops. We will discuss ways to keep your pieces flat, to add borders, to miter our borders and to create different binding options. We will be trying some techniques so you can bring some of your pieces to discuss choices. Bring your sewing machines if you are up for sewing different options. It will be a great day with input from all. With the Quilt show approaching it’s a good review to create a show stopping piece. Supply List provided at registration.
Mariner’s Compass Hand Pieced Autumn Compass (Sara Madson)
Begin your own Mariner’s Compass quilt based on Sara’s “Autumn Compass” wall hanging. During class the students will work on hand piecing their blocks while we discuss color selection, hand or machine piecing and drafting different styles of compasses. The $30.00 kit includes pre-cut fabrics for the center compass only, thread, needles, marking pencils, template plastic and the complete Autumn Compass pattern. Supplies: $30 kit from Sara; basic hand sewing supplies including scissors for paper and fabric, pins, pins cushion and thimble Supply List provided at registration.
Paper Piecing: Vintage Dresses (Trisha Jantzen)
Play dress up with us as we mix and match fabrics to create four fun and playful dresses using the Vintage Dresses Paper Piecing Pattern by Charise Randell. Supply List provided at registration.
Mondo, Midi & Bitty Bags (Davis Main)

Sewing Machine Caddy (Debi Harding)
This sewing machine caddy will fit under your sewing machine, stores your small hand tools, (rulers, thread, seam rippers, markers, etc.) visible at a glance, and never takes up additional space. You will want to make one for home, one for that traveling machine, as well as gifts for your quilting friends! Optional but recommended Kit Fee: $15 (pay to teacher) Kit will include pattern for caddy, pre-quilted fabric, clear plastic for pockets, binding, velcro, ribbon, and fabric for thread catcher.
