About TQG
Founded in 1979, the Tidewater Quilters' Guild provides educational programs and workshops in various techniques relative to the needs of those interested in the art of quiltmaking and similar arts; to educate the public about this fine art; to preserve the tradition, culture and history of quilts.
The Guild offers three monthly meetings to meet the needs of busy schedules. Each meeting features planned programs which may include a speaker, slide presentation, trunk show or mini workshop on a specific topic. Members may attend any or all meetings. Guild members gather to learn new techniques, improve general workmanship, share knowledge and their quilts, participate in community service projects and enjoy friendships with others who share their love of quilting.
Tidewater Quilters' Guild produces a biennial Quilt Show in even numbered years. Spring Fling is held annually and programs by National Teachers are offered quarterly.
TQG is a member of the Virginia Consortium of Quilters, the state quilt guild. This offers our members more avenues for quilt related interaction.
