Quilts for shooting victims and/or families of victims:
It has been suggested that, as a Guild, we might like to make a quilt for each of the families of the victims of last Friday's shooting, as well as those injured who remain in hospital.
The Board has decided that we should ask any member who wishes to take part to make a 12" finished Friendship Block. (This means your block should be 12.5" unfinished.) The pattern is attached and can be found on Quilters Cache.
We are asking that the blocks be made using red, white, and blue fabric from your stash. (Note that the attachment shows the colors in reds and orange.)
The blocks can be turned into the chapter coordinators of the day and night meetings next week, or can be mailed to Debby Coleman at 1520 Stephens Road, Virginia Beach, 23454.
I hope many of you will be willing to take part so that we can offer a small piece of comfort to families facing a horrific situation.

June 22, 2019 - 40th Anniversary Symposium to celebrate the Anniversary of the formation of our Guild.
The event will take place at the Wycliffe Presbyterian Church on Great Neck Road, Virginia Beach from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm and will cost $10.00, includes lunch.
Cheryl See will be presenting the lecture in the morning “Quilter Curiosities.” This will be your opportunity to ask those questions you’ve always wondered about but have never quite been able to ask. Cheryl will also have some of her beautiful quilts with her.
We will then serve a buffet lunch before a trunk show by the Virginia Quilt Museum who are bringing some of their collection for us to admire.
