Tidewater Quilters' Guild, Inc. has a long history of service to the Hampton Roads' community. On going quilt donation projects include: Project Linus, Purple Heart Quilts for Wounded Service members, and Battered Women's Shelters. Surgery Bears are also made for Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters. Other service projects are undertaken on an as needed basis; this would include natural disasters, requests from local groups etc.

Holy Smokes...I can't count! I was in charge of the Susan G. Komen contest, I have realized after awarding the prizes that I did not count ALL of Judy Ross's contributions. The FINAL numbers are Judy (452) and Martha Hunt (404). My apologies to both Judy and Martha.
Judy, you deserve a gold star! Again, I would like to thank all of you who participated in this contest. With your help, the guild collected 1641 squares. Many quilts can be made from this great effort. I know the families of the cancer patients will really appreciate a quilt made especially for them.

Pillowcases for Kids - The guild is continuing to make fun pillowcases for children in the hospital. Completed items can be given to Ann Walls, Polly Rowland, or Eleanor Baumann at guild meetings. A Different Touch is also collecting pillowcases.
During this Christmas season of giving if you would like to make a donation in either a family member or special friend's name to Quilts of Valor, Mary Lynn Slough has specially designed TQG gift donation cards with envelope that she would be happy to provide to you. These cards could also be used to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, births of children, and memorials to loved ones. See Mary Lynn Slough at the Quilts of Valor table at guild meetings for more information and a look at the cards.
