Lights, bells, cymbals...TQG reached 1,000 QOVs with several quilts turned in at the night chapter meeting July 12!!! Quilt #1,000 made by Susan Jacobs & quilted by Suzi Bedford. This is an unprecedented accomplishment. We all should be very proud of giving these tangible objects of love, support and remembrance to America's wounded warriors. On July 9 Channel 13 News early morning and noon anchor, LaSalle Blanks, interviewed TQG quilters at What's Your Stitch 'n Stuff quilt shop as they worked on QOVs. LaSalle and his photographer Bono left with an appreciation of the great work TQG does in our local community. Thank you to Kathie Rokitski for spearheading the QOVs table at the June night chapter yard sale which raised $587 for QOVs and to Freida Doubts, Susan Jacobs, Virginia Keith, and Sue Troyan for quilt donations. (I don't yet know the air date of the LaSalle Blanks interview. LaSalle promised me that he'd let me know). Mary Lynn Slough
