TQG, Inc. produces a biennial quilt show featuring members' quilts and wearable art. Special demonstrations and lectures are held. A merchants mall with local and regional vendors offering fabric, patterns, notions and accessories for sale.
Entries - 1) Photos - Any guild member needing a photo for entries into the 2010 show can have photos taken by Suzi Bedford at the August meeting ($2 each).  Your quilt does not have to be finished, but finished enough so that it can be identified using the photo.  2). Registration Entry Forms are available at all chapter meetings.  Deadline for show registration is Sept 15, 2010.

Boutique - Please call so we can put you on our list and plan the lay-out.  Jo-Ann Raber

Silent Auction - Thank you, ladies, for all your generous support!  We are still excepting donations--my dining room isn't full yet (only 1/2 way to the ceiling).  Ann Walls

Quilt Show Program - I’ll start selling “Patron Ads” at the August & September meetings.  Cost is $1 and helps to pay for the printed program.  Thank for your support.  Laura Kuch

Challenge Quilt - Only 4 kits left.  Contact Charles to arrange pick-up at A Different Touch.  This will be fun and you should shine in your creativity.  It is a three part challenge.

PART ONE is of course, all about the fabric.  The surprise here is that I didn't pick an orange fabric.  There are four different fabrics in the kit, 2) fat 1/16ths and 2) 2˝” x 22” strips.  All four must be in the finished product and recognizable.  You may use as many other fabrics as you want.

PART TWO is the theme.  In keeping with the show theme the title of our challenge is "Just an old bag."  Interpret as you will, but the finished item should represent the theme somehow.

PART THREE is that the finished item should have a representation of an animal somehow.  Be it an animal print fabric, or a penciled in piece or whatever, a representation of some type.  The challenge fabrics are not representative of an animal, so be creative.

The challenge is simple, make either a bag of some type or a quilt no bigger than 27" x 27".  Yep, that's a small quilt.  Also it shouldn't be smaller than 6" x 6".  All projects must be finished.  The may be embellished as you see fit, just make sure the challenge fabrics are recognizable.  If you use a copyrighted pattern please acknowledge that in the entry form.

All quilts must be clean and free of animal hair, and must not smell like last night's dinner or the cigarette you smoked an hour ago.  Please remember we will have visitors of all ages so no gratuitous nudity, lol.  Good luck and happy sewing.  Be creative, have fun, and smile while you sew.  Charles
