SEPTEMBER 6, 2015

The Saturday Chapter was busy as usual this month!
Lot's of announcements on future activities....and then we got sewing for Ryan's Case for Smiles. 50 pre-cut pillowcase kits were available to sew up to be given to very sick children. A few cases were taken to sew at home, but mostly everyone dove right in. Much collaboration was going on in the room as the pinners, pressers, stichers and sergers worked quickly to add to the stack of completed cases. Cases taken home to sew should be returned to the Night Chapter Meeting on September 15.

Ongoing Saturday Chapter Happenings:
The “Bring a Guest” Ra
ffle! Starting in September and going until March, members who bring a guest will be entered into a drawing for a prize donated by Pam Traynham. Members will get one entry per guest, with the winner being drawn at the March meeting!

The UFO Challenge also began this month! The 10 month challenge started with sign ups whereby everyone listed 5 UFO's and paid $5 ($1 per UFO) for the "year." You have 2 months to finish your project....and finished means COMPLETELY FINISHED. If you finish your UFO in that 2 month period, you get your dollar back and get an entry into the end of the year drawing! If you do not finish, your $1 goes into the "pot" and at the end of the year there will be a drawing for the $$$. You must bring your completed project to the meeting, or bring your excuse as to why you didn't. Should be a fun 10 months of "FO's" and stories!

The next Saturday Chapter meeting will be held on October 3 starting at 10:00 am at A Place for Girls (Girl Scout facility) 912 Cedar Rd, Chesapeake VA 23323
