Phyllis Hatcher, Quilt Detective: Cold Case
Attention all Guild members!
You are all encouraged to attend the Saturday, December 7, 2019 meeting for this fun, informative lecture by a skilled speaker and quilt appraiser. For those of you who don't normally attend the Saturday chapter, the location is 525 Kempsville Rd in Chesapeake, social time at 9:30 am, program starts at 10:00 am.
Do you have an old, interesting quilt or top you know nothing about? Maybe you've acquired an heirloom quilt from a family member or purchased one in a shop? Bring it with you to this lecture and let Phyllis crack the case for you. Phyllis will show how she determines the approximate date a quilt was made using a myriad of mysterious clues. Who knows what treasures she will uncover simply by looking at our old stuff!
Also, this is a perfect time to show off some of our “old” treasures at Show and Tell. Don't let Show and Tell be only about out newest projects!
After Phyllis' program, she will be doing individual quilt appraisals for a limited number of people. Each appraisal is $50 for a half hour session and she will mail a written appraisal to you . The necessary forms are in the newsletter and on the website and a filled out form must accompany each quilt to be appraised, so bring both quilt and form with you to the Saturday program.
