Hello again, well time is still flying and we are just over a week away from the start of the AQS show. Ann and Betts have done an amazing job putting together teams of volunteers to help in a variety of areas at the show. However, the organizers recently asked us to take on an extra role to help
with the registration of visitors as they enter the show. The placement of the registration area is too far for us to combine tasks as we had hoped. Ann and Betts therefore find themselves with about 10 days to go and need to staff an extra position. If any of you have a couple of hours spare during October 3 - 6 and would be willing to offer your services please contact Ann or Betts.
It is also time to vote on the Guild Budget for the coming year. The draft budget is included in the newsletter for you all to have a look at before the vote at the November Chapter meetings.
You will notice that we are proposing to increase our contribution to the Virginia Quilt Museum. As well as increasing our contribution, we will be asking the Museum to publicize our Guild at each of the four exhibitions they hold each year. The Museum is an amazing facility which I would urge you all to find time to visit if you haven’t done so already.
If you have any questions about the budget in advance of the meetings please feel free to drop me an e-mail and I will do my best to answer them.
I look forward to seeing you all at the AQS show.
