March 2018
This is definitely a banner year---three quilt shows! We just attended the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Show by Mancuso. We were worried when the January chapter meetings were canceled that we would have problems getting the volunteers needed to sell raffle tickets and white glove at the event. In true fashion, once Darlene Price put out the word, you stepped up and filled up her schedule. She was even able to establish a waiting list in case one of the volunteers fell ill. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and thank you to Darlene for her work in
setting up the working on the quilt and setting it up.
A big thanks and a round of applause go to Darlene Price, Paula Harr, Marie-Louise LaFond, Hiromi Brown, Betsy Kessler, and Angela Cartwright. These ladies met for a year and a half to hand quilt our Grandmother’s
Flower Garden raffle quilt. They did a beautiful job. If you have not had the opportunity to see it up close, be sure to do so.
Our Spring Fling committee is also very busy getting ready for our annual event on March 17. As of the publication date for the newsletter, they had some opening left for the classes. Contact Pat Carney if you
haven’t had a chance to sign up. More detailed information is later in this newsletter.
Our show is in August and these preparations are also keeping us busy. Karan Fisher is keeping us all on track and I am expecting an outstanding show. I have also sent in a registration for one of my quilts and am still deciding on the other two. The sooner you can enter your quilts, the calmer your committee members will become! Let’s help them out.
We have established a nominating committee for the upcoming year and are looking for a number of positions. The job descriptions are on the web site or I can email you copies if you are interested in a particular position. We need you. Don’t wait to be asked, come forward and enjoy yourself. We always have a good group of
women and it’s great to get to know them a little better.
Keep Calm, Quilt On and send in your registration forms for Spring Fling and the TQG Quilt Show.
