Exhibition open from September 3-October 23, 2015 at Virginia Wesleyan College- Neil Britton GalleryThe exhibition showcases a collection of quilts created by the internationally respected fabric artist, Betty Jo “B.J.” Elvgren. Six Canterbury Tales quilts representing each of the five stories dramatized in Chaucer’s work, plus the addition of an “Arrival” ending, will be on display in the Neil Britton Gallery inside Hofheimer Library from September 3 – October 23.

B.J. Elvgren has quilts in the collections of Chester Cathedral, Chester, England and the American Quilter’s Society Museum in Paducah, KY. The Canterbury Tales were previously displayed in a one-woman show of fabric art at the Peninsula Fine Arts Center, Newport News, VA. Two of the quilts are being lent to the Neil Britton Gallery from private owners, allowing the series to be brought back together for this special exhibition at Virginia Wesleyan. The show will also include other narrative quilts by B.J.
