Spring Fling was a big success! It reminded me of what a great group of people belong to the guild. The classes were outstanding and the camaraderie was even better.
We still have our quilt show in August and the AQS Show in October to anticipate. The library book challenge is started and we had over 40 books checked out. The deadline is in July; so, we are hoping to have many of them in our show. I saw somewhere that an AQS show was like Mancuso on steroids but since the Virginia Beach Convention Center is about the size of the Hampton Convention Center, I imagine they will be comparable to each other. I love all the shows--big, small and in between. It will be nice to actually be close to something (I live near Strawbridge) but the drive through the tunnel was well worth it for the Mancuso Show. Each year I see things I have never seen before. I especially liked the irony/wrinkly one. It makes me laugh thinking about it.
As many of you know, I broke my foot again. Of course, it is the right foot which means I can’t drive. I thank all of you for your kind thoughts, prayers and offers of help. I am pretty frustrated with myself but am doing fine with the help of friends and family.
The slate of officers for the next year is posted later in this newsletter. We will vote in May and they will assume their offices in June. Memberships will expire in August.
