Founded in 1979, the Tidewater Quilters' Guild purpose is to provide educational programs and workshops in various techniques relative to the needs of those interested in the art of quiltmaking and similar arts; to educate the public about this fine art; to preserve the tradition, culture and history of quilts.
The Guild offers two monthly meetings to meet the needs of busy schedules. Each meeting features planned programs which may include a speaker, slide presentation, trunk show or mini-workshop on a specific topic. Members may attend either or both meetings. Guild members gather together to learn new techniques, improve general workmanship, share knowledge and their quilts; participate in community service projects and enjoy friendships with others who share their love of quilting.
